And so we come to number 3. eduID as an account.

In Australia, in the public space, we have three levels of government offering their accounts.

  • At the National level, we have the myGov platform.
  • At the State level each has their version.
  • At the Local level, each council has their own registration.

The National State accounts

We should be clear. When one talks about an account, on a network, they are usually talking about three levels of security (or Access) to a range of online services, in a particular sector.

E,g, In NSW’s State Education network one can Log In (at the top right drop down) to e.g. services, using one of three levels of access. In this case - staff, student. or “others”.
